Is it Really Necessary to have all that?

Media I've already mentioned how pictures can occupy a lot of space. But so long as they serve a purpose and don't consume too much data they are able to be excused. Videos are not allowed on text-based web pages. I hate it when I click on an interesting headline on a news website and am then redirected to a breif article acompained with a two-minute clip of their morning show, I'm unlikely to watch the clip so why must be consuming my bandwidth? There is a case to be made in this kind of situation but there's no argument for pages that contain some type of video that is playing without reason. I'm sure that we've been on sites that featured spinning globes or other high-definition image on the top. We may have looked at it for a second and thought, Hey, that looks cool. But then we scrolled down to find what we were searching for. We didn't go to the site to see the background, but to take a look at the content on the site. Why is it that the background of a site consume more data than the content we're actually reading? If the page was designed and constructed poorly, then there is a chance that the background of the page causes your browser to download the same six second clip repeatedly. Ceglowski suggested that photos of President William Howard Taft should be used on websites. Tablet Accsessability I'm not a believer in tablets, I don't have them like other people do and therefore I'm not going to spend all day discussing them, but tablets are great for some people. The web pages of the past changed drastically when iPads were introduced. Once simple and insignificant buttons were styled and enlarged and the most popular buttons are the ones you use the least. I'm grateful that I'm not a web developer because creating websites that function well on all sorts of hardware isn't a lot of fun. Ads I've only talked about things that are out of the developer's control. But when a page is populated with advertisements, there is no way for a designer to determine if the page they spent hours enhancing and designing will look good and perform. A rather standard 3 MB page could be loaded with an insipid 50 MB advertisement. Ceglowski shared this graph, which is based on the 2015 US average cost per bybyte of internet bandwidth. It shows how much it costs to pull up advertisements on different websites, compared to the actual content. It is evident that advertisements not only cost us time and safety from computer viruses, but they also cost us money in internet bandwidth. (There's another good argument for using an ad blocker) (Of course, this kind of graph only applies to sites that are predominantly text-based, if this graph had included YouTube the entry would have been able to boast a more sensible ad-to-content ratio) I could go on and on about ads I'm sure that you could all. So I won't bore you with it. Two paths At the end of his presentation, Ceglowski presented two screenshots of video games. Minecraft is an extremely basic game, and it's not a very pretty game, but it is an excellent platform for creativity. Call of Duty is continuously being developed to offer the best graphics and compelling gameplay. However they require more resources to run and don't distinguish themselves from other games in the genre. We want the internet to be more like Minecraft. Isrse37's blog We want to see innovative and unique things done with lesseffort, instead of the same kind of thing we're used to seeing done with more. What should I do? I realize that I , and no one else likely to read this will have much of an impact on the future of the internet. We are likely to be compelled to access bloated sites but we ought to be looking for ways to eliminate bloat from other parts of our lives. Is a built in backup camera really worth paying an additional $500 for a new car? You're better off turning around to back up anyways. Is it worth paying an additional $1.25 to have a scoop of guacamole with your burrito? No, you could buy the entire avacado in less than $1.25. Are you really wasting your time? It's not, but you could be doing more productive things with your time.
